Van
Allen's Design for the new PERFORMING ARTS CENTER on Broad St. It was
felt
by Van Allen as well as many other people that a more entertainment
and fantasy approach would be in keeping with not only the style
of the
adjoing
Carpenter Center ,(Old Loews Theatre) but with Richmond's tradition of
grand theatrical edifices, and would attract more attention, as
well as
theatrical
and tourist trade to the area.
