Below
is one of my favorite 20th Century composers,Francis
Poulenc,a man
of
great talent and wit, who's music often resembled great cartoon music.
Stylistically he's actually quite closely aligned with Carl Stallings
and Raymond Scott, and so should be at home residing on this here web
page,to which I'm rather sure he wouldn't turn up his classical
nose,caricatured or otherwise.

Screen Actor Mark

All through his career as an artist and animator, Keith
Van Allen
has been approached to do caricatures.Starting in high school when
favorite
"character" teachers were the subject, or political figures, there's
always
been a demand for this unique type of art, which though often
considered
just a bit of fun, goes to the root of good drawing and portraiture,as
well as capturing the soul of the subject in a few well placed
lines,for
whatever purpose.Da Vinci and other Renaisance artists practised
caricature.Indeed it requires the same drawing skill, if not more to
capture
the spirit and likeness as well as to exagerate it, either wildly for
maximum
humour, or savagely for extreme satire or political commentary, or
subtly
for a more endearing ,or sophisticated quality. As Disney said
,"Caricature,
that's what we're all about".All the intense training of both
these"renaisance
schools" was focused to that end.It is in this tradition that Van Allen
and it's associated artists strive when we caricature.
Contact us with whatever caricature project you have in
mind, and well adjust our approach and degree of exageration
accordingly.
