Here we find the tool of
Hitchcock,Spielberg and many others, more
common now,but not so in earlier days.The animation industry is
responsible for the creation of this most useful and efficient tool,
most
notably at Disney,but more rudimentary boards also existed at earlier
studios such as Sullivan,Fliescher,and even Bray.It might be said the
storyboard has it's true genesis in comic strips,which made a natural
transition to animation,but it's also true that Hitchcock and Disney
raised it to an art equal with the finest cinematic montage, for which
indeed it was divised.
